What is the Graduate Polk: Student Success Center?

 In 2017, Polk School District set out to identify and address factors that inhibit student success, and ultimately high school graduation, within Polk County. Our goal was to identify factors outside of the classroom setting that negatively impact student performance in the classroom and work to address student needs beyond academic expectations. As a result of a student survey completed by students grades 9-12, from both Cedartown High School and Rockmart High School, it is evident there is a stringent need for academic, behavioral, and community services within Polk County schools. 

The Graduate Polk: Student Success Center is the product of the collective efforts of the Polk County community and Polk School District to provide for these academic, behavioral, and community needs within our schools. While working to mitigate self-identified barriers to success and increase student achievement, the Graduate Polk: Student Success Center works to grow the WHOLE child by providing systems of support aimed at fostering a sense of optimism, worth, belonging, and purpose within each student in Polk School District.
