It is the goal of the Office of Marketing, Public Relations, and Recruiting to develop, implement, and maintain a cohesive branding strategy that streamlines district communications across all platforms, translate district initiatives into a positive culture among our students, parents, employees, and the community, attract a highly-qualified workforce, and serve the mission and vision of Polk School District.
District Culture
Polk School District is dedicated to promoting a positive culture within our schools and throughout the Polk County community. We stand firm in the belief that the development and growth of positive relationships among all stakeholders (students, parents, teachers, administrators, community partners, etc.) is essential in serving the families of Polk County.
Let's Communicate
Website: The website is our primary hub of communication. We post alerts during a crisis, regular news items as well as calendars, and parent, student, and staff resources.
Social media: Stay updated on the latest news and happenings in the district on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
Social media comment moderation guidelines: Social media is a great way for our community to stay in touch. The PSD Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages are maintained to share school district information with parents, students and staff and to engage with our community. We welcome your comments, thoughts and feedback. However, we reserve the right to hide comments that:Portray conduct that it against the law or advocating illegal activity
Include personal attacks or threats against an individual or school
Include obscene or threatening language
Defamation
Promotes illegal discrimination
Malware links
Copyright violations
Are spam or contain advertising for a service, product, individual or business unrelated to the post or responsive to other comments
Please note: We only hide posts or comments that meet the criteria above. Other comments may be hidden by Facebook, Instagram or Twitter independent of PSD. If you would like to report an inappropriate comment for us to review, please email mcarter@polk.k12.ga.us.
Emails, Phone Calls, and Text Messages: Polk School District uses Apptegy (Thrillshare) as our Mass Communications notification system. Notifications are about district or school information including school closures, early releases, emergency situations, etc. Contact your school to ensure your information is current in PowerSchool to receive emails, phone calls, and text messages.
All automated PSD and school phone calls come from one main number: 501-712-2633.
Media news releases and announcements to local media outlets
Accessibility: PSD is committed to ensuring all information on the website and through other communication tools is accessible to everyone.
