POLK COUNTY SCHOOLS BEGIN SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH
The search for the next Superintendent of the Polk County School System is underway. On Thursday, April 17, 2025, the Board held a planning session with a representative of Georgia Leadership Associates, a Georgia firm that will assist the Board with the search.
The Board set a timeline for the search that includes a deadline of May 2, 2025, as the last date to accept applications. Georgia Leadership Associates will email vacancy announcements about the search. The search announcement will be posted on various internet sites. It is the Board’s desire to conduct a thorough search process in selecting the next leader of the school system while maintaining the necessary confidentiality of applicants until finalists are selected.
The Board will develop a leadership profile that includes the skills and competencies desired of the next Superintendent. The profile will be important as the Board determines the best candidates to consider and interview for the position. Interviews should begin in May.
It is anticipated that the search will be completed soon and a new superintendent will be named no later than July 1, 2025.
