In a remarkable display of dedication, skill, and international camaraderie, the Cedartown High School International Debate Team recently participated in the Parliamentary Debate World Congress. Despite facing grueling training schedules and navigating challenging time differences, the team showcased their prowess, finishing with a commendable two wins and one loss.
The journey to the Parliamentary Debate World Congress was not just about mastering the art of argumentation; it was a testament to the resilience and commitment of these young debaters. The team's training schedule was rigorous, demanding countless hours of research, preparation, and practice debates. Balancing academic responsibilities with their passion for debate, these students demonstrated an unwavering determination to excel on the global stage.

These students not only represented their school but also became ambassadors for unity and understanding on the global stage. In addition to their competitive achievements, the Cedartown High School International Debate Team exemplified the values of sportsmanship and respect.
These students' conduct during debates and interactions with fellow participants reflected positively on their character and commitment to representing their school, Polk County, and the United States with honor and integrity.

Mrs. Millsap's Kindergarten class at Northside Elementary School delved into the intricacies of addition and subtraction! Through carefully crafted math centers helped to unleash the power of collaboration, turning these kindergartners into budding mathematicians who not only grasp the basics of equations but also apply them to real-life story problems. Students use manipulatives and interactive tools to bring addition and subtraction equations to life! This lesson encourages students to collaboratively solve problems, exchange ideas, and build a foundation for a lifelong love of mathematics!

Our third-grade students at Youngs Grove Elementary School have taken their learning to exciting new heights with a captivating interdisciplinary project that seamlessly integrates reading and social studies! Students explored the art of comparing and contrasting texts in their reading lessons and delved into the diverse regions of Georgia in their social studies curriculum. As a culminating project, students had to work together to create posters and present to the class!
This approach allowed students to not only build their knowledge of the subject matter but also to develop their skills in identifying similarities and differences between them. Combining the subject matter for the lesson encouraged students to strengthen their critical thinking skills, foster collaboration among their peers, and demonstrate the real-world applications of the subjects they were studying.
